Cellfire E-Coupon Basics

by A Frugal Friend on December 25, 2009

E-Coupons! I’d mentioned the word to family and friends before and they had no clue what I was talking about. Of course I have to admit that for a long time I didn’t know what they were either. If you are wanting to save money on your grocery bill, this is one tool that you need to use (one of many). It is an extremely important tool for those who don’t buy newspapers and get those coupon inserts. Coupons are available in so many forms now….not just in the newspapers.

E-Coupons are coupons that are “loaded” onto your grocery card (by a simple click) and are redeemed at checkout when your grocery card is scanned by the cashier. I’ve been using them for months. The hardest part for me is remembering to go online and look for new E-coupons before I head to the grocery store. Well, I’ve just made that easier for you and me.

Cellfire E-coupons are now accessible right here on A Frugal Friend. You’ll find a Cellfire banner on the right which you can always click on to load your E-coupons.  If you’ve already signed up, you never need to have your grocery card with you to load e-coupons. I also just added it on my coupon link list on the right-hand side. If you haven’t gotten familiar with all the tools and links here, this is a great time to look around. You can also access it here:

Cellfire E-Coupons

Stores Accepting E-Coupons: Available with your savings card for: Baker’s, Cala Foods/Bell Markets, Carrs, City Market, Dillons, Dominick’s, Fry’s, Genuardi’s, Gerbes, Hilander, JayC Food Stores, King Soopers, Kroger, Owen’s, Pavilions, Pay Less Super Markets, QFC Quality Food Centers, Ralphs, Randalls, Safeway, Scott’s Food & Pharmacy, ShopRite, Smith’s Food & Drug Stores, Tom Thumb, and Vons.

For those of you not familiar with the newly added Safeway and Safeway owned stores here’s a rundown:

Stores Locations
Safeway Western/Central US
Carr’s Anchorage area Alaska
Dominick’s Chicago area of Illinois
Genuardi’s Pennsylvania & New Jersey
Randall’s Food Market Southeast Central Texas
Tom Thumb North Texas
Von’s Southern California and Nevada

Signing up – you will need to have a cellphone. This will be your account number. The only time you HAVE to use the cellphone is when registering. They will text you a code a few moments after you sign up……this code will complete your registration. For people like me who don’t text (and don’t like to pay for it either), this can be the only time. Make sure you just opt-out of text message alerts.  I did.

They allow me to load up to 50 coupons.***These are not doubled in the stores.

Though it may be possible to use both paper coupons and E-coupons on a single item, Cellfire doesn’t encourage you to do so.

Customer Service – I can personally vouch for their customer service. I encourage everyone to look at their receipts to make sure the E-coupons were redeemed. They are easily spotted on your receipt as they are clearly marked. If you notice that a coupon was not redeemed that should have been, just go to the Cellfire website and have your receipt handy. They have an online form to fillout and when this happened to me my Kroger card was loaded with $$$ ready to be used during my next purchase.

E-coupons are updated frequently and I’ll let you know as soon as they are.
Tip: They’ve increased the number of E-coupons you can load from 10 when I started to 50 now……..so I say load any and all that you might use, especially if the item were to be part of a great sale in the future.

So, visit Cellfire E-Coupons now and Happy Loading!
