Escalate Network – earn affiliate $$

by A Frugal Friend on February 15, 2010

When I started out blogging, I didn’t know the first thing about html, self-hosting (or not), or affiliate networks. But I’ve learned about it all…….the hard way.

As a blogger, you can earn some extra money, by becoming an affiliate with certain networks. One such network I’m highlighting today is Escalate. I personally use them here at A Frugal Friend and yes, earn money through my blog. They have many campaigns with names you’d likely recognize, and they pay well (love that part).

Let me know if you have any questions at all. I remember feeling overwhelmed as a new blogger starting out…….wasn’t quite sure about how to make money blogging, etc. So, I want to start sharing ways that you too can earn a bit of money.  You’ll need to apply…….and hopefully you’ll get accepted too!

What does it mean to become an affiliate? Is it just allowing them to advertise on your blog? How do they pay you? Through PayPal or something similar? Is there a minimum number of posts you have to do a day/week/month? This is all new to me, so any more information you have is helpful. Thanks so much! Glad you were able to keep your blog going despite the shut down!

Hi!
Let me tell you, I started reading your blog about 3 weeks ago and have already cut my bills by at least 25%, (as well as getting more products at the same time.) I’m impressed with how savvy you have to be to get to the point of saving 90%! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all this great info, it has not only saved me money, it has also saved my sanity (As a stay at home Mom, it’s a great distraction!)

I’m interested in blogging, but don’t have a clue! What do you recommend in the way of articles, books and/or ways to get info? Your help in getting started would be much appreciated.
God Bless,
Jessica

Hi Ladies……I’ll email both of you! :-)

For everyone……As an affiliate you have access to working with name brands…..anything from banners, text links, discounts, etc. You do what you want with it…….you are not required to post anything.

Jessica,
Thanks so much… I’m so glad you are saving so much already! :-)

Do you use WordPress? I’m looking to move off Blogger (because of what happened to you) and I’m looking for opinions. I’m also interested in the affiliate program. I’m an Amazon affiliate and have just really learned how to use it. Does it give you everything you need?

Do you remember in Blogger how you post a button with the link for others to put on their site? I can’t find it anywhere. I also can’t figure out how to do FeedBurner subscriptions.

Sorry to ask so much. I just can’t figure this all out!
