Have you heard of Shaun The Sheep? I must admit that before this review opportunity, I never had……so let me tell you a bit about this new friend who had me laughing in the middle of the night recently.
Shaun the Sheep is from the Oscar Winning Creators of Wallace & Gromit and recently won an International Emmy Award for Children and Young People. Impressive. In the United States, five-minute shorts currently air on the Disney Channel, but you can only find full length episodes on DVD’s.
Shaun the Sheep is original, fun, and hilarious (from both a child’s and her mommy’s point of view). Shaun the Sheep and his buddies, especially Bitzer the dog, had us in stitches around 3am this past week. My daughter has been sick with her first ever ear infection….and has been waking up in the middle of the night (a rarity). So on one particularly “feeling yucky” night, I pulled out the brand new 2010 DVD release, Shaun The Sheep: A Woolly Good Time
There are no words. It’s pure physical comedy with animals on the farm (and Farmer too of course). You wouldn’t think that these animals could pull that off, but oh, do they! What’s so interesting to me is that my 2-year old and I were laughing out loud……..really hard. At the same times. I was even a bit worried we’d wake my husband up since it was 3am. We’ll be looking to check out more Shaun the Sheep DVD’s soon…..my husband has got to watch these! If you are tired of watching some of the same old characters, I challenge you to check out Shaun the Sheep……I have a feeling you’ll be impressed too!

We have all of the Wallace & Gromit DVDs and were so upset that they only showed Shaun the Sheep in the UK. Shaun is my big kid’s favorite character and he would love this video. Did I mention that my big kid is my husband? :O
