I can’t believe it’s already been over a month since I’ve been home from the Disney Social Media Mom’s Celebration. I’m still catching up on Disney posts, sleep, and laundry……and many of you know just how much laundry that has been, seeing that we’ve had a month full of colds, ear infections, and even the dreaded stomach bug. So I am (fingers crossed) finally healthy enough to delve back into the world of reviews & giveaways….and I’m so excited about this one. Why? It has to do with something so important to me…..the safety of my child!
We are not strangers to Walt Disney World, but when I got the heart-stopping news that we were going to Orlando last month, I had a few new concerns. I’m a Type-A Mom after all. I’ve been to WDW with just my husband. I’ve even been to WDW with a barely walking 15-month old. But, never, ever with a fast-moving, independent 2 1/2 year old toddler. To top it off, there would be many times during the Disney trip when Mommy would be hanging out with other social media moms (press conference, grabbing Ty Pennington’s picture, etc). Daddy would have a bit of time alone with his little girl……at WALT DISNEY WORLD! That can be overwhelming for 2 parents, much less 1.
My biggest concern was safety. What if she got lost? With big crowds at a theme park, it’s not that hard to see how something like that can happen. There were a couple of times that a grown adult actually got in between my daughter and I during our trip. Scary, even though it was only a second.
PROBLEM:While Disney CastMembers are awesome, I had heard that if a child is lost (and is too young to recall information like cell phone numbers), CastMembers can’t look inside pockets, coats, etc. for contact information citing safety concerns. Makes sense, but Hmmmm….there went my idea to PIN our cell phone numbers into her clothing/jacket.
So, this Mom went and discovered My Precious Kid® – Child Safety Products & Baby Gear. Not only did I find what I was looking for, but I found countless other items that I never knew existed. Items that let parents breathe a bit easier in areas like:
- Child Safety
- Child Identification
- Home Safety
- Potty Training
- Baby Feeding
- Baby Products
- Special Needs Children
Child ID Bracelets:
This is exactly what I was looking for…..the Child ID Bracelet! These ID bracelets are strongly constructed and attach via strong velcro over the smallest toddler wrist like my daughters. They have a medical symbol plus the words “Vital ID Inside” on the exterior.
A MEDICAL SYMBOL FOR ALL KIDS?
It draws attention. If an adult has found a lost child and immediately notices this ID Bracelet with a medical alert symbol on it, you know the adult is going to open it up and see what kind of medical problem the child has. They will then discover all contact information for the caretakers. So, while a child ID bracelet is an obvious solution for a child with a medical issue like diabetes or allergies, it is recommended for all children so that adults will be drawn to the bracelet immediately.
CHILD-FRIENDLY:
Fits wrist size 5-6 inch wrist (Older YOUTH sizes also available)
Uses strong Velcro
Washable
Waterproof
Durable
Colorful
My Take: I was completely impressed with the Child ID bracelet. The product was well-made and was even somewhat fashionable….shocking I know! We received the purple bracelet and it really was the perfect size and not too bulky for a busy toddler. Our contact information (names and cellphone numbers) fit easily on the ID card that is completely inside the bracelet. I did have a hard time finding the perfect permanent marker to use so it wouldn’t smear……my best tip would be to buy the one for $2.00 that they sell at My Precious Kid.
Our plan was to have our daughter wear it the entire trip, but she had a bad breakout of eczema on her arms due to the freezing temperatures in Orlando (can you believe it?). So while the bracelet didn’t get a full workout at Disney World, it’s going to get plenty this spring and summer at the ZOO, Water park (yes, it’s waterproof), and mall. In fact, until she’s old enough to know all our information, there’s no reason not to wear the bracelet when we are out in public.
THUMBS UP! This is A Must for a parent, grandparent, aunt, or anyone who goes out in public with kids!
BUY IT: My Precious Kid sells these ID bracelets for just $11.99

anything that is personalized, such as the wristbands, are wonderful for my boys, who are both highly allergic to peanuts…and they are both still to young to be able to tell someone “no” if they are offered peanuts.

This is a brilliant idea! I was in the Baby Care Center at Disneyland last month when a three year old was brought in. He didn’t know any info that could help contact his parents and the cast members didn’t hear from anyone until just before I left. That was at least 20 minutes his mother had been searching for him! This bracelet would’ve reunited the little boy with his mother quickly and saved her some of those panicked minutes.
Also, the Surge Protector & Power Strip Cover is a genius idea. Our little one loves cords and I think this could help us protect her from them and visa versa!
I think the Child Safety Pack would be great to have!
