Bank of America has a wonderful promotion called Museums on Us….it’s been going on for a couple of years now. If you have any type of Bank of America card (check, ATM or credit) you can get free admission to museums in 74 different cities in 27 states on the first weekend of every month.
***Easter Warning: This Sunday, April 4th, is Easter Sunday, so I imagine most museums will be closed on Sunday. Call ahead to the venue you want just to be sure. Saturday probably is just fine, but I’d call anyway!
We’ve taken advantage of this “Museums on Us” promotion. We took our daughter to visit the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science. After doing a little research we found out they had a wonderful Children’s Museum for naturally curious children and toddlers learning about the world. The kids could be “farmer of the day” and milk a cow or plant crops. They could dress up or learn about firemen and others in the community. It was hands-on experience. There was even a place to learn about dinosaurs and dig up bones!
For little ones (age 0-2) there was even a “Backyard Patio”….an area filled with cushions and mats, inclines and holes. A great area for little ones learning to explore and crawl……or for those of you in a one story house, this gives a little one an introduction to small steps.

***Note: we didn’t have to call ahead or anything. They just had a sign-up sheet at the ticket office. My husband and I each had a B of A card and had to show them along with our ID. That was it. Of course, our little one was free since she was so young.
