Playing outside has been a bit tough for us here in North Texas lately……it seems like everyday is an ORANGE ALERT day, which means I need to keep myself and my daughter inside. The snazzy tricycle is just begging to be taken down the sidewalk and there’s plenty of running around that needs to be done. Toddlers and staying indoors just don’t always go well…….they need fresh air and plenty of space to exercise their little legs and use their imaginations.
Because of that, I’ve been keeping the new DVD we received, Barney: Let’s Play Outside
With never before seen content, this new Barney DVD, released in May, will have my little one itching for that big backyard of hers. A DVD that encourages kids to play outside and be active is a must-have. Summers are meant for children and they’ll enjoy seeing their favorite characters like Barney, Baby Bop, and BJ imagining shapes in the clouds (oh, I loved doing that as a kid) and catching lightning bugs (another favorite). Oh, I miss being a kid in the summer! Homemade ice cream, camping, and more. But it will be fun watching my daughter.

I’m in Texas too, Houston, and I grew up in a state where I could play outside all day, so it’s really sad to see my 2 1/2 year old son wanting to just be inside because he’s too hot. What’s worse, is the heat is so terrible, I tend to let him watch too much TV because I feel rotton too. This will help modivate us both to play, not just watch!
