We’ve had some extra fun around our house this week. My daughter received a package. Yes, this time the package was for her…well, for her to review alongside mommy.
Our mission was to play with the brand new Pop On Pals Amusement Park Play Set….don’t you love duties like that? I “had” to play with my daughter.
The world of Pop On Pals is brand new, so don’t feel bad if you haven’t yet heard of these toys. Geared towards kids aged 2-4, it’s a world of fun pals, pets, vehicles, and playsets where you can mix n’ match…….you know, a gazillion “Popabilities”. A carpenter can all of a sudden become a policeman…just by pressing down on the pal and popping on various mix ‘n match rings.
These toys definitely encourage imaginative play and social skills along with fine motor skills for the younger group. Now, what would my almost 3-year old think?
My (almost) 3-year olds’ take: She has spent countless hours playing with the amusement park playset. She loves the lights and music…and the ferris wheel! No complaints here.
Mom’s Take :
Liked:
- It comes almost completely put together (you do have to add the end piece to the roller coaster)
- Comes with Batteries Included (love that)
- It reminds me of Six Flags….except it only has Three Flags on top of the roller coaster
- It’s bright, colorful, and my daughter has played with it continuously
- There is a whole world out there….you can add pets, vehicles, etc (great for birthday ideas)
- Available at stores like Toys R Us, Target, Kmart and Sears
- It’s FUN…especially the roller coaster!!
Disliked:
- I wish the plastic was a bit more “heavy duty”…it might not survive a rougher child
- I find having to move the lever (to alternate working the ferris wheel and dragon boat) is a bit tough, even for me! LOL I wish there were 2 separate levers, or even easy buttons to push.
- I wish the playset came with more than one pal
That’s the big thing that I’d recommend to Pop On Pals. If you are going to spend approx $34.99 on a great playset like this amusement park, you’d want to have at least 2 pals to play with. This set came with one girl and a couple rings that you could snap on her to add hands. There was no ballerina that could suddenly turn into a baker, which would be a big part of the fun (and big part of promoting the toys). We’re just really missing a second Pop On Pal so that at least 2 children could play with this together (or parent and child). Of course, you can buy a package of Pop On Pals separately (you just wouldn’t expect to have to with their largest playset).
Overall, it’s fun, it’s new, and my daughter enjoys it….that’s what matters. I’ve just got to get another Pal!

I did a survey a while back about this set. I wasn’t sure if my kiddo would like it or not though.
