Kmart Helps You Get “Outdoor Ready”: Coleman LED Rugged Rechargeable Battery Lantern (Giveaway)- CLOSED

by A Frugal Friend on July 18, 2010

***GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED***
Congratulations to:
#164 Taralyn

Is your family an “outdoors” family? Growing up, my dad definitely was all about the outdoors….camping, fishing, etc. Mom, on the other hand, preferred a comfortable hotel room to a sleeping bag. We did a bit of both as a family and hopefully my husband and I will do the same with our daughter. Of course, we’ll have to borrow everything from my dad or do at on of shopping via Kmart’s Online Camping Section.

Visit Kmart’s Camping section and you’ll see much more than great deals on camping equipment. You’ll find:

  • Packing Like a Pro – an essentials checklist
  • Secrets of Successful Trips – camping do’s and don’ts
  • A Field Guide to Fun – camping games and entertainment

FRUGAL TIP: Kmart is offering a variety of deals on camping gear such as coolers, tents, and portable chairs—and an additional 15% off all adult and kids Coleman sleeping bags for online purchases only at Kmart (online) from now until 7/24! Just use the promo code FITFACEBK610.

Kmart has Coleman products too – and boy, does that bring back memories.  Almost everything my dad had seemed to have that name branded on it…..from lanterns to camping stoves.  Speaking of Coleman……..I’ve got a great giveaway for you, courtesy of Kmart.

we love camping and go alot and ticks are bad in our area of TN so I worry about ticks from deers as well as mosquitoes , and we get outdoor ready first with bug repelants which I like using the off wipes for and apply sunscreen too. And for supplies in camping to get out door ready I keep a list of things we usually need for camping taped to the inside of both the motorhome & tent so nothing left behind and try to keep those things in one big plastic storage tub for easy access. We are camping all next week so I am doing that very thing this weekend & packing all our coleman goodies now so our vacation is a fun one with things like Camp Chef Popcorn Popper/Light My Fire Grandpa’s Fire Fork my favorite coleman item you just put onto the end of a tree branch for roasting hot dogs or marshmallows which my grandson loves to use, thanks great giveaway of the coleman Lantern

I tend to go overboard when camping! I gather up the tents, usually two coolers full of food and drinks (at least 2!), bugspray, flashlights, tin foil for cooking, a camping coffee pot…. that might be about it! We haven’t gone camping since my son was born, but perhaps we could get out this summer. He’s a year and a half now :)

Thanks for hosting!

We love to tent camp but the hassle of getting ready can really make it more work than pleasure. So, we have put together a box of all our camping needs … things like salt/pepper, condiments (which don’t need refrigeration), plates, utensils, cloth napkins (love reusable), lanterns, etc. I keep a list in the box so that as we run out of things or think of things we’d like to always have ready, we add it for the next time. Now, whenever we’re in the mood, we grab the box, our tent, sleeping bags … and we’re off.

Making sure the sunscreen in stocked and the camp chairs are ready!

161 Maureen Ruble July 23, 2010 at 7:38 pm

We get outdoor ready in Florida by bringing our all natural bug spray, hiking shoes/boots, sunscreen and hats. We will now have extra precautions in place whenever a campfire is active. On 7/4 our 2 year old tripped backwards in to a campfire on our family vacation and is suffering from severe 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his arm and hand. We will bring spray chalk and have a 15 ft perimeter that is a “kid free” zone from now on. I hope this warning helps another family be even more careful.
