Adorable….Madeline from Costume Discounters!

by A Frugal Friend on August 3, 2010

With a little girl in the house, I have loved shopping for costumes each fall. It’s fun to dress up a little girl and even though fall is normally the time I buy a costume, we end up wearing them throughout the year for fun!

A little confession though….I’ve usually waited until October to even start looking for costumes. Bad idea, trust me on this one. Fortunately I’ve always found the “perfect” costume just in time to get it delivered.

This year is different. I found the perfect costume and have it ready to go….and it’s only August. But really, Halloween/Fall Festivals are only 2 1/2 months away, so if you are on the lookout for a certain costume (like the popular Toy Story 3 ones for example), you’ll want to shop now.

You know I’m always on the lookout for deals and I’ve found a great resource for you….Costume Discounters. With a Low Price Guarantee, this type of site is exactly where us frugal moms want to do our shopping for Halloween Costumes.  Not only do they have a low price guarantee, but they also help moms and dads out by providing Free Size Exchanges….just in case we order a size that’s a bit too small or large. Love that!

There were so many options this year for Girls Halloween Costumes. From Dorothy (Wizard of Oz) to Cinderella, I really had a tough job of deciding which costume to choose. Last year we did Snow White and the year before that we did Raggedy Ann. After much deliberation (oh, so many adorable outfits….I’d love to have a closet full)…….we chose the Madeline Costume!

We recently introduced our daughter to Madeline so I thought this would be just darling…..and I couldn’t have been more right. Although I’m a bit partial, isn’t she cute? My little Madeline…now if we just learn a bit of French! :-)

The Madeline Costume comes complete with blue coat and yellow hat. My 3-year old is always in the 90th percentile in height and we ordered a small, which fits sizes 4-6. It fits perfectly. It’s made of a heavier fleece type material which will be wonderful if it’s cold outside (I’m praying for Texas to actually have an autumn this year instead of skipping from summer to winter)! The quality – I have to give the costume a thumbs up as this is the best costume I’ve ordered so far for my daughter. It’s the best made, with secure buttons and all. No shortcuts here and no flimsy material either. I’m quite impressed.

My favorite part of all is the cute little Madeline yellow hat…..it’s sturdy and not flimsy at all.

I’m so pleased with this costume and can’t wait for it to get out of the 90’s so we can wear it for more than 2 minutes. She’s a trooper for posing in this photo! :-)

She looks beautiful in blue! It would be nice to have a costume like that, that will keep my daughter warm if it ends up being as cold as it was last Halloween. Nice to know that while it’s Discounters is in the title of the company the costume doeesn’t cut any corners.
