Congratulations to:

#321 Jes

It seems it’s a *HOT* topic these days…..Vitamin D deficiency.

But for so many of us, me included, we are Vitamin D deficient. Some people just are deficient….. despite sufficient Vitamin D in their diet and time in the sun. I’m a rare duck though, and had a deficiency even with increasing my daily i.u.’s. So I get a prescription now and for the first time in a long time, I’m back to normal levels. This was so important to me because of research I’ve done on my own….and I encourage you to learn a bit about Vitamin D too.

It’s fun…….and everyone wins!

The Nature Made Casino D Instant Win Game is a game you can play to learn more about Vitamin D. Through Sept 27th, visit and click the “Spin” button three times:

2nd Spin: Spin to try and win a Nature Made cooler or exercise DVD
3rd Spin: Spin and be entered to win the grand prize of $2500 towards a family vacati
on

I’ve got even more fun for you:

GIVEAWAY:

One winner will receive a free bottle of Nature Made Vitamin D, and a $75 Visa gift card !

You can earn one extra entry for each of the following:
(please leave separate comment for each)

1. Subscribe to A Frugal Friend via email or in a reader

And from someone else’s comment above I learned it helps with psoriasis.

I wonder how long it takes to notice how it could be helping if that’s the only thing we change in our diet and nutrition. A month?

The daily value is 400 IU to not become deficient. It is recommended that adults take 800 IU to 1000 IU on a daily basis. The safe upper limit is 2000 IU daily.

Vitamin D helps regulate the excretion of calcium from the kidneys and maintains normal blood levels of this mineral. – VERY interesting, especially since I already take a calcium supplement.
