Last night we were in need of a little family R&R…………it had been a rough day. While the plan was to work on much needed projects and chores, we decided we needed to laugh a bit. What better way than to hear that line……”ALVINNNNNNNNNN!

Yes, we settled in for a night of laughs with  Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked .

Here’s the Scoop:

The Chipmunks, Chipettes and their caretaker Dave Seville (Jason Lee; “My Name is Earl”) embark on a trip of a lifetime aboard the Carnival Dream cruise ship. Seeking fun and excitement, the Chipmunks turn the luxury cruise liner into their own personal playground. But the ultimate vacation quickly becomes a disaster when the Chipmunks, Dave and Carnival cruise pelican mascot, who turns out to be the chipmunks’ old manager, Ian Hawke (David Cross; Megamind), accidentally fall overboard and find themselves ‘chipwrecked’ on a remote island.

Stuck in an unfamiliar territory, the six furry castaways are separated from Dave and must figure out a way to survive on their own for the first time in their lives.

This was my daughter’s very first experience with Alvin and the Chipmunks, so she really didn’t know what to expect. While she didn’t get a lot of the pop culture references, she giggled plenty at the characters and noted that Alvin was “CRAAAZZZZY”! :-)

As a mom engaged in social media, one of my favorite lines was when Alvin told the lovely lady that she could follow him on Twitter, as he was running away from Dave. LOL

The movie is rated G, but I didn’t particularly care for the dance scene where the Chipettes are having a “dance-off” with some ladies. Nothing bad, but it’s just a reminder to always watch G ratings with your young kids first, to see if you need to explain anything or have a chat.

Fun movie with plenty of laughs.
