Oh, I’m loving the weather here in Dallas right now. Not too hot, and just a few days ago, it was even a bit chilly in the morning. A perfect time for playing outdoors.
When I was a little girl, there was one item that my sister and I always played with outside………our red wagon! Oh, the hours we’d spend pulling each other and using our imaginations. I’ve been a bit upset at myself, as I can’t believe my daughter hasn’t had a red wagon of her own………..until now!
Can you imagine how excited she was when this arrived on our doorstep?
The brand new Step2 All Around Wagon features:

Um, this is quite fancier than the red wagon I had when I was little. :-) Oh, if I could have brought snacks and a drink. But one thing I know……this will bring hours and hours of fun!
She had been waiting so patiently for those horrific thunderstorms and tornado warnings to leave our area. That combined with her asthma and pneumonia (it’s been an exciting Spring around here), left us no other option but to build the wagon…..and play inside for a while!
Someone had to run and get her pretend tools to help Daddy build! She was excited……and Daddy did let her use the hammer a bit.
(*When we opened the box, we realized that we only three tires. A quick email and a additional tire was on the way.)
Yes, wagons can be used indoors too!
- The wagon was our Row Boat (stuffed animals would occasionally be thrown overboard for giggles)
- The wagon was our Roller-coaster Ride (thank goodness for the seat-belts)
- We even enjoyed an Earthquake or two in the wagon (creativity)
- Dollies and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse friends were frequent riders too
BUT…..the time came for our new wagon to head outside. Smiles all around. Can you tell?
Oh, she has big plans for that wagon! Let’s see……
- Neighborhood Scavenger Hunt
- Decorating it for the 4th of July parade
- Riding it for the Butterfly event this fall
- Playtime with Cousins
- and many, many more!!!
She even has a storage compartment in the back of her wagon to store well, right now she’s got it filled with toys. Mommy prefers leaving keys, tissues, and an asthma inhaler in there. LOL
There are so many places to put drinks and snacks….two in the back next to the handle (more inside). Everyone will be fully hydrated.
One upgrade from the 1970′s wagon I had is all about safety…….seat-belts! So important for little ones! There are two seats, each holding up to 37 pounds in weight. There’s plenty of leg room (trust me, my daughter inherited long legs from both her parents)!! Two children easily fit comfortably thanks to Step2!
While my daughter can easily step in the wagon without opening the door, the door does have an extra safety feature for young children. It’s not easy for little ones to open and close the door……you must press down on the latch (which takes some practice, even for my daughter).
Did you know that this is “Made in the USA”! Love that!
