Easy DIY Firecracker Decorations

I was going through my holiday boxes recently and found these Easy DIY Firecracker decorations that my mom made years ago. I still have them after all these years. They were so easy to make - an ideal 4th of July craft for adults and kids alike.

You’ll need:

Empty bath tissue rolls (aka toilet paper rolls)
Red and blue paper (we used wrapping paper since it was shinier, but construction paper would work with kids)
White ribbon
Pipe cleaners (we used gold and silver)

Optional (these items can be found at places like Michaels/Hobby Lobby):

Floral Sticks (we used red sparkle floral sticks to add some height to the firecrackers)
Blue and/or Red Star Foil Garland (we cut into strips)

Cut red and blue paper into 6″ x 10″ pieces, one for each firecracker

Wrap each empty bath tissue roll with red or blue paper.

TIP: Wrap it like a tootsie roll, long-ways, with the extra paper on the ends. Place one long piece of tape to secure.

Push one end of the extra paper into the empty bath tissue roll (This will be the bottom of the firecracker).

Top of the Firecracker – place all your goodies (the pipe cleaners, floral sticks, garland pieces, etc) INTO the top of the bath tissue roll. Then tie all together with white string around the goodies and paper.
